Rev. Vonnie Elisha James is a Public Theologian and Faith-Based Consultant. He holds pastoral accreditation with the Grenada Baptist Association. James is also a Religious Columnist and Social Justice Advocate. James mixes faith with intellect and 'intercourses' theology with journalism to address social, political, and theological issues.
At the Grenada Baptist Association (GBA), Rev. Vonnie James is a Past-President. At the Conference of Churches in Grenada (CCG) he is a Past Chairman (Ag).
Mercy, shepherding, and teaching are spiritual gifts that Vonnie uses to influence communities and countries for God (Micah 6:8).
UTCWI awarded him The Rev. Ashley Smith Award in Church and Development, Church and Community Service Award, and Highest Academic Award.
GITE awarded him several times for 'Dedicated Service'.
As a Theologian, Vonnie wrote for the Caribbean Christian Publications (CCP) and Eclessio.com. James contributes weekly to the religious section of Grenadian Voice Newspaper.
Vonnie's areas of focus are in Spirituality Intersection with Real Life and Theology.
As a blogger, Vonnie was in public theology since 2009. He closed the blog in 2010 to focus on pursuing seminary studies. In 2014 after returning from his second round of studies, he led the Rose Hill Baptist Church until 2019.
After his wife became sick, he sensed God leading him to a more public theological ministry. So, he became a Religious Columnist/Contributor in the local newspapers and took on an Associate Pastorship at the Grand Bacolet Baptist Church. In that way, he can divide his time between his wife's care, public theology, and the church.
James is the husband to Theresa and is the father to Drusilla.
