As a blogger, Vonnie has been in public theology since 2009. He closed the blog in 2010 to focus on pursuing seminary studies. In 2014 after returning from his second round of studies, he led the Rose Hill Baptist Church until 2019.
After his wife became sick, he sensed God leading him to a more public theological ministry. So, he became a Religious Columnist/Contributor in the local newspapers and took on an Associate Pastorship at the Grand Bacolet Baptist Church. In that way, he divided his time between his wife's care, public theology, and the church.
On July 13th, 2024, his wife died.
James is a widower and is the father to Drusilla.
